Community Chest

Celebrating thirty years of business McCulloch commits to giving back.

In celebration of 30 years in business, McCulloch Group has just launched two community initiatives, all to benefit the surrounding neighbourhoods of the company’s depots and offices across the UK.

As a people-focused business born from a small and close-knit village in Ayrshire, Scotland, McCulloch Group has a long history of supporting the community. In 2022 key sponsorships included The Ayrshire Hospice, whilst the Ukraine Appeal raised vital donations for refugees fleeing the Russian invasion of Ukraine. McCulloch Group employees have also been avid supporters of local sports teams and have completed litter-picking exercises to clean up their local towns.

The first of these new initiatives is McCulloch Group’s ‘Community Champions’. A number of these champions will be appointed in McCulloch depots and offices across the UK and will act as a point of liaison between the business and colleagues, customers, and the wider surrounding communities.

All staff will also be able to input into the second initiative, called the ‘Community Chest’. This is a monthly pot of £500 that will be used to support and benefit the local community. This could be through a team sponsorship, time volunteered to a good cause, or used to pay for something for local schools, clubs, or organisations.

David Girdler, CEO, shares “As a business we’re focused on innovation, driven by a hunger to see improvements on the rail infrastructure. This hunger however doesn’t stop there, it stretches to our communities as well. In celebration of our thirty years of business we have launched these initiatives to give back to the places where our people work, live and play.”

The programmes are now well underway, with key projects up and down the country benefitting from the funding – if you’re near a McCulloch Group office or depot and want to reach out to your community champion, email marketing@mccullochgroup.com for further details.
