Regional Sales and Business Development Manager, McCulloch Group

Here at McCulloch Group, we know talent when we see it. And given the vast amount of talent we have within our teams, one of our biggest indicators of success is the happiness and success of our people.

At our latest McCulloch Roadshow, a day for the full McCulloch Team to come together, we held our own awards ceremony for employees who have gone above and beyond of late. We spoke to her about the awards and what it takes to provide an exceptional level of client service.

Good morning Anne! At the recent McCulloch Team Day, you won the Customer Service Award. What did this mean to you?

I was delighted to receive the award! I have been in customer facing roles for over 35 years and the way we deal with our customers has a direct impact on how they perceive the Company, so it’s vitally important to me to ensure that our customers have a positive experience each time they speak with our teams.

The leadership team said you had been chosen for the award for going above and beyond for your clients. What do you think are the most important three elements of customer service?

Mutual respect and trust

Open and honest communication

Timely responses to enquiries

What do you most enjoy about your job?

In a customer facing role, not only do you get to speak directly with our customers which I thoroughly enjoy, you also get involved with our wider internal cross functional teams which gives you a better understanding of the business as a whole. Having recently moved into the Sales & Business Development role it allows me to get involved at a more detailed level on the sales budgets, forecasts and strategies, along with building up my knowledge of our plant capabilities and how we can offer solutions to clients.

And what do you most enjoy most about working for McCulloch Group?

We have a great bunch of people with a fantastic portfolio of products, which is increasing all the time. Having just come back from a successful Rail Live 22, it was clear to see the enthusiasm both existing and potential new clients have for our products and services. The opportunities for growth seem limitless!

Any parting advice for an individual looking to carve a path in a similar role to yours?

Go for it! If you enjoy being part of a team, have good communication skills and enjoy building excellent working relationships with clients then this is the ideal role for you.  There are also clear opportunities for career progression.

Lastly, remember to always treat people the way you want to be treated. Talk to people the way you would like to be spoken to. Respect is earned, not given.

Is McCulloch Group the next career step for you?
