Global rail innovators from Ballantrae have again committed to being main sponsor of local team – Girvan Football Club. The Ayrshire based rail infrastructure business have sponsored the local team through highs and lows since 2011, ensuring the club are able to continue supporting local players as well as the wider community through its outreach work.
Girvan Football Club dates back to 1874 and since then have played in a variety of leagues across Scotland with the current team’s name being taken in 1978. With a ground capacity of 500 and their home ground of Hamilton Park, ‘the Seasiders’ currently play in the West of Scotland Football League.
The McCulloch Group, a local Ayrshire business, trading since 1992 have regularly supported a range of good causes both at home and across the UK as their business has grown. What started as a small family enterprise of two twin-brothers, Billy and Danny McCulloch, has grown into an international business which is transforming the methods used to deliver rail infrastructure projects across the world. This year the McCulloch Group have continued their ongoing commitment as ‘main sponsor’ with a donation of £10,000 and in addition have renewed their term as ‘strip sponsor’ also.
Danny McCulloch, shareholder of the McCulloch Group, has been Chairman of Girvan Football Club since 2019 and shares “Girvan FC is not only a football club, however it provides vital supports to various community groups within Girvan and the surrounding area. The continued sponsorship from the McCulloch Group therefore is extremely important to the local community.”
The club provides a home to several important community causes including the Girvan Men’s Shed, gardening groups from the South Ayrshire Alcohol and Drug Partnership, Girvan Youth Clubs and Girvan Walking Football.
