Global players the McCulloch Group shortlisted for national awards.

Ayrshire based rail innovators, the McCulloch Group, have been shortlisted in this year’s prestigious British Chamber Business Awards. The thirty-year-old business walked away from their local Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce awards in 2022 as Global Players – an award recognising international exports. Following their victory locally, they have been nominated by the Ayrshire Chamber to the national British awards.

The Global Player award recognises businesses delivering business success through the export markets. The McCulloch Group launched in 1992 by twin brothers Billy and Danny McCulloch in their hometown of Ballantrae. It has spent the majority of its commercial life operating on the UK rail infrastructure working alongside Network Rail, utilising their unique machinery, and operating methodologies to support the construction, repair, and renewal of the UK’s vast rail network.

With initial grassroots success in the international marketspace in 2017 following a family holiday to New York, the business has since identified key geographical territories across the globe. To date the business has successfully supported the delivery of works worldwide including in America, Australasia, Europe, Mexico, and Asia.

David Girdler, CEO, comments “To be shortlisted in the British Chamber Business Awards is a recognition which the team at the McCulloch Group greatly deserves. From our in-house manufacturing department through to our sales and business development functions, an extraordinary of work and effort goes into realising our international growth successes.”

With new objectives set for the business’s global expansion, the McCulloch Group await with anticipation to hear if they’ve been awarded the Global Player award in this year’s British Chamber Business Awards.
